Iβm launching a little alchemical creator matchmaking experiment.
why
I really enjoy connecting people, and it has occurred to me that I have a dense little graph of cool people in my twittersphere (x-o-sphere?), many of whom may not know each other.
There seem to be plenty of founder- and employee-matchmaking services, but I havenβt encountered anything formalizing the find-a-collaborator thing for people interested in working with someone on content, a newsletter, a podcast, that kind of thing.
My hypothesis is that open airtable boards and public Twitter solicitations bring in too much awkward, pitch-y spam. Maybe centralized, thoughtful, double opt-in matchmaking might work better?
what
This is for anyone whoβs looking for someone to collab with on a creative project. If youβre already making stuff, that helps a lot (I have a better sense of how to match you). But if youβve got a background doing other work and youβre just looking to start creating more, thatβs cool too.
Just fill out this Google form. Itβs free, no catch. Share what youβre interested in, and how you might like to collab with someone else. Please keep it focused on requests for collaborators for content, newsletters, essays, podcasts, etc. Job searches, hiring, and cofounder matchmaking are outside the bounds of this experiment.
Iβll give it a little time for a database to build up (Iβm not sure how long itβll take), but once I start seeing some potential matches, Iβll reach out individually to get double opt-in before making any intros. If you decide a match isnβt right for you, Iβll keep that fact between us.
It might take some time. Iβll do my best but please donβt plan your entire life around this.
You have nothing to lose! Stop lurking and go make cool stuff with cool people.
